⚠ It is very important to check the shaft length before ordering !
The steering box is not 100% water proof.
Oil has leaked out during the transport from LADA to us. Please check the oil level before mounting.
This steering box is only used together with the short intermediate shaft (2121-3401092).
LADA Niva 1900 Diesel & Niva 1600 old models
The old steering gear 2121-3400010 is no longer in production. This new steering gear (21213-3400010) replaces the old.
What is the difference from the old steering gear?
Only the 'Drop arm' is different. You can remove your old drop arm, and reuse it on this unit. All other components are the same, so is the gear ratio.
FIAT 124
Early models, have no intermediate shaft. To make this model fit Fiat 124, the shaft has to be removed from the original unit then pressed into the new one. The shaft is using "Press fit" into the worm-gear, making it possible to replace the shafts.
Late models, have an intermediate shaft. We don't know the sizes, please check with your old shaft length, or follow the recipe from the "Early models" (above).
Either model: The black arm ("Drop arm") has to be replaced with the old one too. Our Fiat 124 reporter, noticed the black arm was so well pressed on, that an angle-grinder was needed to cut it of.
