The new type is utilizing a CV-joint in the drive-line, making a substantial reduction of the shaking and noise. Reducing the shaking, releases the stress in the bearings and internal parts in both the gear- and transfer-box. |
The layshaft equipped with the extra strong flexible coupling (Design variant -10), also have the latest plastic casing (from GM-AvtoVAZ Chevy Niva) and a free rubber centering ring. As visible in the photo, the layshaft is balanced and ready to mount.
Perfect replacement
Fitted this to my niva to replace a broken rubber, and at the same time update to CV joint. Part fitted perfectly.
I learned the hard way that the metal clamp around the rubber needs to be removed after installation, it compresses the rubber so the bolts line up nicely, but it will fall off when driving due to vibrations if you forget about it.
